Chhattisgarh State was created by the Madhya Pradesh Reorganization act 2000. It was approved by India’s then-president on August 2000. With the creation of this state, there emerged the Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha who’s the first session was held at the Jashpur hall at Rajkumar College. After a while, the Vidhan Sabha relocated to their newly constructed Bhavan at Vidhan Nagar as far as it is well known by a number of people.
The current speaker of the Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha is Gaurishankar Agrawal. He has been the speaker since 6th January 2014. The three arms of government in Chhattisgarh state are; executive authority, legislative assembly, and legislative council.
The Assembly Elections 2018 will be held to elect members from the ninety constituencies in Chhattisgarh. Its tenure is scheduled to end between 5thand 20th January 2019.
